How we work.

In the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the production of life-saving products often generates complex residual and water streams streams containing toxic organics, metals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and micropollutants such as PFAS.

Today, most of these water and process streams are destroyed, often transported for incineration, wasting valuable resources and creating unnecessary emissions from transport and combustion. This approach contradicts the principles of sustainable water treatment. 

At Inopsys, we see these side streams as resources rather than waste. In a time of water scarcity and climate challenges, we aim to eliminate the practice of burning valuable resources. Our modular water treatment systems enable on-site water purification, allowing the removal of persistent contaminants such as PFAS and, where possible, the recovery of valuable resources.

Built on years of R&D and a deep understanding of pollutant composition, we have become a trusted partner for industrial water treatment and the sustainable treatment of chemical and pharmaceutical waste streams.

With more than 15 water treatment installations in 3 countries – some operating since 2017 –  we have demonstrated that treatment of side and water streams can be both sustainable and profitable.

MOBILE &
MODULAR

Our solutions combine multiple water treatment technologies in modular units, integrated into one or more containers for easy on-site deployment as water treatment systems.

Thanks to this flexible design, we can adapt to process changes, new production lines and evolving regulations. Our modular industrial water treatment systems can also be easily relocated between different customer sites.

SELECTIVE
REMOVAL

Side streams such as wastewater and spent solvents contain a mix of different components. Not all of these substances are toxic, persistent or non-biodegradable.

Our water purification approach therefore focuses exclusively on the problematic components, such as persistent pollutants and PFAS. This allows the remaining stream to be efficiently treated in a central water treatment plant, achieving high removal efficiency with low energy consumption.

PAY-PER-USE

We take care of the investment in the water treatment installation, so you don’t have to. With our pay-per-use model, you gain access to proven expertise in industrial water treatment without upfront capital expenditure.

This reduces both CAPEX and operational risk when treating complex water and side streams.

We provide an on-site alternative to transporting and incinerating side streams. With our on-site water treatment solutions, we manage complex streams and strict purification requirements using proven expertise.

Through our Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain model, we take full responsibility for the water treatment process, allowing you to focus on your core business, with guaranteed compliance.

CIRCULAR
ECONOMY

Our selective approach to sustainable water treatment enables recovered materials to be reused not only within your own processes, but also across other sectors.

By connecting companies through the exchange of recovered resources, we strengthen the circular economy and reduce the need for primary (virgin) materials.

 

Downstream purification after sludge dewatering.

Inopsys now offers an integrated on-site water purification solution through a close collaboration with Indaver Separation Technologies, also part of the Indaver Group. After IST’s sludge dewatering process, Inopsys treats the resulting water stream directly on site, using modular water treatment units tailored to the specific pollutants present.

This two-step industrial water treatment approach allows for the removal of persistent contaminants such as PFAS, APIs and metals, while enabling the recovery of valuable compounds. The result is clean water ready for reuse, reduced environmental impact, and full compliance with regulatory standards.
